About
Hope for Youth-Uganda (HFYU) is a registered local NGO operating in rural communities of Nama and Kyampisi sub-counties of Mukono district. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children and young adults in our communities by empowering them through provision of free basic primary and vocational education skills, as well as access to health services; while restoring hope in them.

Who We Serve
The community we serve has a population of over 2500 children and young adults who are largely at-risk and socially underprivileged. Started in March 2008 with seven children under a tree, we now provide free Primary education to over 250 children between 6-14 years; over 50 students are being sponsored in high schools while over 60 youths and young mothers attend our out-of-school programs. We also provide support services to mothers/guardians who care for these children.
Our Projects
HFYU continues to thrive, working in partnership with local community members/leaders, local and international NGOs and District authorities. We have mentored youth with creativity and social workshops, promoting cross-cultural friendship and global engagement. Since the founding, 7 classrooms have been built to house an enrollment of over 250 children. To read more about the various projects at HFYU, please click the button below.
